Recommended Pilot Gear

pilot flying gear and equipment

Many flying schools will have some kit that you can borrow when you take your flying lessons, but most people prefer to gradually acquire their own, There are the study books, which you will need, to pass those ground school exams. They are a must-have for a trainee pilot, as you will be using them for reference purposes, a long time after you get your pilot license.

Your own personal headset is probably the next item that most trainee pilots buy, as they need to be comfortable and suit you personally. Having your own flying headset is also important for hygiene reasons being they are so close to your mouth and ears.

Next, comes navigation equipment and tools. these can be anything from a stopwatch and map to an iPad and software. Last and certainly not least you will need a flying log-book to record your hours, this can be done electronically, for me personally, there is nothing nicer than seeing the ink on the page, a record of every flight completed.
